State police at Lehighton are investigating two burglaries that were reported recently.

Troopers said unknown criminals entered an old abandoned white school house located at 43 Holiday Road, off SR895, in East Penn Township. Troopers said an outside window was smashed and there was damage done to an inside stairwell door and door jam. Also, various paper files were thrown about the floor. The listed victim is Clyde Rendell Shoop, 61, of Jim Thorpe.The incident occurred sometime between July 24 and Sunday, Aug. 8.The second break-in occurred at a wooded shed located in the backyard along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County. The unlocked shed was entered sometime between 11 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 6. Removed was a .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle and machete. Troopers declined to list the name of the victim.In a theft incident Frank Stanley Waksmunski, 67, of 115 Green Briar Drive, Palmerton, Towamensing Township, reported someone entered his residence and removed two magazines loaded that belong to a .22-caliber rifle. The theft occurred sometime between July 15 and Aug. 3.Troopers also reported on a criminal mischief incident. Thomas Milewski, 58, of 807 Dogwood Lane, Pleasant Valley Estates, in Polk Township, reported someone destroyed three solar driveway lights valued at $30 at his residence. The incident was reported at 6:38 p.m. on Aug. 5.
