The Panther Valley Golden Agers met on July 12 with a presentation on preventing identity theft by Janine Holter from the Attorney General's Office.Fran Golder read an inspirational message "Living for Today." Mary Ann Stotelmayer read some interesting verses.Jean and Joe Pelcheck were welcomed back after a long absence while visiting family in Texas. Also welcomed was Alice Skrabak.Mimi Marrin will send get well cards on the sick list.The next meeting will be held on July 26 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Hall, Summit Hill. Yearly dues can be paid at any meeting.Summit HillVolunteers neededMembers of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, will be having a stand at the Summit Hill Fire Company's dedication program on Saturday, July 24. Volunteers are needed to set up at noon and to help at the stand during the festivities. The event will be held at the Vermillion farm in Mahoning Valley, starting around 4 o'clock. A brief business meeting will follow at 6:30 with Lee Mantz, president, in charge.Water authorityThe Summit Hill Water Authority will hold its monthly meeting tonight at 7 o'clock in the borough hall. John Michalik, president, will be in charge.Services soughtSt. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, is seeking the services of individuals to fill various board positions. Openings exist for the parish council and finance committee, Our Lady of the Angels Academy school board and the OLOAA finance committee. The only requirement is a desire to perpetuate the Catholic school. It is not necessary that those serving in the school capacities have a child at OLOAA.Anyone interested in the positions is asked to contact the Rev. He will be heading down Catawissa Street (Route 209) from Tamaqua to Route 93. A Nesquehoning police escort along with the mayor will meet him at the stop signs in town.Please watch WNEP's noon news to find out the approximate time that he will come to Nesquehoning. They are looking at sometime after lunch.
