Named to dean's list; also a Writing Tutor

Erin R. Litsch of Tamaqua has attained the Dean's List for the spring semester at Muhlenberg College of Allentown, after completing her freshman year. Muhlenberg is one of the most highly ranked Liberal Arts colleges in the United States.

Erin is majoring in English and minoring in Art History.She is also enrolled in the Secondary Education Certification Program.After her fall semester, Erin was notified that she was one of the 17 students from both the freshmen and sophomore classes who were chosen to be Writing Tutors. This is a highly selective and prestigious position at Muhlenberg College and in order to be selected, students must first be recognized as an exceptional writer by the faculty and then go through a rigorous interview process and submit a portfolio of their writing for review. Students cannot apply for this position on their own; they must be chosen by the faculty to submit their work. Muhlenberg's Writing Center is a nationally recognized program and Erin participated in a semester long writing intensive training course.Erin was also notified that she was chosen to be a Writing Assistant for the Fall 2010 semester. This means that in addition to her normal tutoring duties, Erin will be team teaching a freshmen seminar with a professor from the English Department. She was also a member of the Muhlenberg Activities Counsel and served on their Concert Planning Committee this year, and she was a member of the Colleges Against Cancer group on campus as well.Erin is a 2009 graduate of Marian Catholic High School where she was Valedictorian. She is the daughter of George and Diane Litsch of Tamaqua and the granddaughter of Marian LaBella of Tamaqua and Sadie Litsch of Mahanoy City.
