They came from 24 states, plus Canada and England for the first Fabfun Noonefest at Penn's Peak and then they stayed on Friday night for the Peter Noone concert which followed the inaugural event.

While it was the first time Elizabeth Stevens of Nesquehoning saw Noone in concert, she met up with the Noonatics from all over the country who follow Noone everywhere."I am so emotional," said Stevens. "I like that he finally came to where I can see him because I can't get around. He is so gorgeous. I have a defillibrator and I was so afraid it would go off. I was a teen again for the night."For others, the Noonatics have seen the entertainer in concert literally hundreds of times."I know I've seen him at least 200 times," said Barbara Stricsek of Florida, who came north from Florida with a group of friends. Some arrived by plane or automobile, while Nanci Carpenter came by train. Carpenter said she saw Noone at least 350 times."I know his jokes, but I still laugh as if I was hearing them for the first time," said Carpenter."This is a great place," said Stricsek. "The sound is good. He sang a lot of different songs I haven't heard in a while."The fans who came to Fabfun Noonefest were not disappointed. They spent the entire afternoon in Penn's Peak listening to their favorite singer talk about the history of the band members, hear his daughter Natalie sing a song via I-phone and have their photos taken backstage. The event concluded with Peter awarding prizes, including one of his jackets, CDs, visors and more. The group then gathered for a huge fan photo of the 350 Noonatics who attended the event.The evening concert brought together the Noonatics (Peter Noone's fan club) and fans from throughout the area who enjoyed Noone's song's and jokes.He began with "I'm Into Something Good," which he said is his favorite song, because it makes him feel good."It's a happy song," he added. He sang many of his songs, including "Dandy," "She's A Must to Avoid,""No Milk today," "Leanin' on the Lamp and "Just A Little Bit Better." He also sang a few of his number one songs in America, "Can't You Hear My Heart Beat," and "Kind of a Hush. He also did a tribute to the Yardbirds and Dave Clark FiveNoone often ab libs during his concerts. "My shows are always different," he said. "I myself never know what I'm going to do."Born Peter Blair Denis Bernard Noone 62 years ago in Manchester, England, Noone has been delighting audiences for years. He achieved international fame as "Herman", lead singer of the legendary Sixties pop band Herman's Hermits. Herman's Hermits sold more than 60 million recordings. In all, 14 singles and seven albums went gold. The Hermits were twice named Cashbox's "Entertainer of the Year".Noone has appeared in hundreds of television shows, movies, and live Broadway plays.
