Austin I. Shupp, a student at Palmerton High School, was named as a Science Student of Excellence by the United State Achievement Academy. Shupp was nominated by his teacher, Michael Lengle. His name will appear in the United States Achievement Academy's Official Yearbook with is published nationally.

The Standards for Selection include academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability and recommendations from a qualified sponsor.
