Marian Catholic student in Naval STEM program

Stephen Valente, son of Robert and Michelle Valente, Sugarloaf, a student at Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, PA will participate in the U.S. Naval Academy's Summer STEM Program.

The Naval Academy's Summer STEM Program is an overnight academic camp designed for rising 8-11 grade students in good academic standing who have an interest in math and science. Approximately 375 students from around the U.S. have been selected to participate in this summer's STEM program.The STEM Program gives students the opportunity to experience real-life applications of math and science principles through hands-on practical learning. Students will learn from distinguished Naval Academy professors in world-class lab facilities that provide a unique learning environment outside the traditional classroom.The Academy's current students, know as Midshipmen, help run the Summer STEM Program and act as counselors and tutors to students.
