Rhine, 44, Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to theft of an identiy of an inmate while in Houtzdale Prison, Alleghany County, His guilty plea was to seven counts each of identity theft and forgery and was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to serve 21 to 42 months in a state correctional institution with credit for serving 55 days in the county prison.Punishment programRalph James Gantz, Jr., 46, Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and was placed by President Judge William E. Baldwin in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months with the first 15 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee followed by four months and 45 days under probation, pay a fine of $1,000 and court costs, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, a $50 monthly supervision fee, complete a alcohol highway safe driving school, receive intensive outpatient counseling, make restituiton of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center and his driver's license is suspended 12 months. On a summary charges of not having the rear lights on his car working was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Gantz was cited by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, last Sept. 10.Beth Stamm, Orwigsburg, pleaded guilty to DUI and was place in the IPP to serve 90 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a fee of $12 per day, pay a fine of $500 plus court costs, $300 to SAE fund, a $50 monthly supervision fee, complete schooling and receive outpatient counseling.Increase property taxBlue Mountain School District won its appeal to increase the valuation of a property in its district. After a hearing President Judge William E. Baldwin increased the market value of a property located at 11 Jackson Road, Seiders Subdivision, North Manheim Township, from $152,280 to $210,000 and fixed the assessment for the 2008 tax at $80,220 for 2009 at $78,333 and 2010 at $83,790. Testimony was the house was built in 1996 in a new development.Revoke parolesStephanie Mary Knorr, 22, Frackville, had her probation and parole revoked by Judge Donald Dolbin and her 224 days of liberty taken away and added to her maximum sentence which was extended to Feb. 16, 2012. However, she was given a second chance and was re-sentenced to be placed on parole for 12 months. She was charged with criminal conspiracy, access device fraud and misbranding a controlled substance.Tedd Richard Fredericks, 38, Frackville, had his probation revoked by Judge Charles M. Miller and was remanded to the county prison to serve three to 12 months on a charge of theft of a charity containing funds for Children's Miracle Network in the Turkey Hill Mini Mart, Frackville. He received credit for serving 75 days in prison.Virginia Eileen Justiniano, 50, Pine Grove, had her probation revoked by Judge Miller and she was committed to a state prison for two to six years on 11 counts of possession of a controlled substance.Treasurer's reportExpenditures for operation of courthouse, hospital, agencies and courts in May was $9,365,561.35, according to the report released by Treasurer Jacqueline McGovern.Deposits and disbursements for the various departments were:General fund, deposits, $12,782,242.73 and expenditures, $2,298,615.33; county agencies, deposits,$3,948,291.97 and expenditures, $2,295,072.95; other county departments, deposits $3,966,224.81 and expenditures, $3,782,467.68; Rest Haven Home and Hosptial, deposits, $856,317.86 and expenditures, $822,271,02; 9-1-1 Communication Center, deposits, $540,102.69 and expenditures, $151,603.06.The ending balance of all accounts was $54,193,179.63.The treasurer's office received $11,547,591.96 in real estate taxes; $572,248.66 for funded debt tax and $109,587.73 in per capita tax.Revenues from license sales were, dog, $1,120; fish, $42; bingo, $630 and small game of chance, $2,930.Other revenues were, magisterial fees, $60,108.92; 9-1-1 tariff on land phones, $74,200.54; 9-1-1 department earnings, $764.91; and hotel tax, $12,081.34.
