Plans for installation and Memorial Day weekend evens will be discussed and finalized.Fishing derbyThe Second Annual Fishing Derby, sponsored by the Nesquehoning Conservation Club, will be held on Saturday, May 8, with registration at 8 a.m. in the CVS parking lot.Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be available.The derby is in memory of the late Connell McCall.There will be afirst place award of a $250 gift card from Cabela's.Fishing will take place on the shores of the Nesquehoning Creek.LansfordPost Office collecting foodResidents of Lansford are reminded that the Lansford postal workers will be collecting non-perishable food on their routes for the Lansford Food Pantry this Saturday, May 8.Residents are asked to place non-perishable food donations on their porches by 8 a.m.The postal service and volunteers are very overwhelmed on this day. Volunteers are still needed and anyone wishing to drop off their donations may do so at the Food Pantry located in St. Katherine of Drexel's Gymnasium in the 100 block of E.
