Marian Catholic High Senior Class to present Jesus Christ Superstar

Jesus Christ, Superstar is the groundbreaking theatrical masterpiece by the legendary writing team of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The first collaboration between Webber and Rice to be performed on stage, Jesus Christ, Superstar is one of the most popular and enduring works ever created for musical theatre. Featuring such notable songs as "Superstar", "Everything's All Right" and "I Don't Know How to Love Him", Jesus Christ Superstar earned five Tony nominations.It tells the story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Superstar dramatizes Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, the unrest caused by His preaching and popularity, His betrayal by Judas, the trial before Pilate, and His ultimate crucifixion.The senior class at Marian Catholic High School will present Superstar on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 25 at 2 p.m.The show is directed by Miss Judith A. Martini, Assistant Director, Mr. Robert Valente, Musical Director/Orchestra, Mr. Michael Brimmer, Choreographer, Kelly Daniels-Franks, Costumes, Mrs. Anne Caggiano, Set Design/Painting, Ms. Annette Bechtel, SetConstruction, Mr. Lou Ceci, Props/Reception, Mrs. Mary Beth Faust, Tickets, Mrs. Maureen Heffelfinger.Various members of the senior class, Marian drama club, library aides and desktop publishing will be behind the scenes helping with the slide show, set construction, painting, make-up, costumes, lighting, sound, stage crew, props, tickets, posters, program and ushering. The orchestra consists of students from 9-12th grades and Fr. Ron Minner from All Saints Parish in McAdoo.There will be no intermission and a strobe light will be used during Trial by PIlate and The Crucifixion.One can purchase refreshments before and after the show.Tickets will be available at the door.This production is being dedicated to Mr. Ted Neeley, the original Jesus from the1973 Superstar motion picture, whose advice and guidance will never be forgotten by the cast of characters and production staff.

SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS The principles in the 2010 Marian Catholic High School's production of Jesus Christ Superstar are: Justin Huegel, Patrick Leitzel, Michael Mulligan, Scott Nietz, Alex Garber, Katie Owens, Eric Faust, Matthew Baxter, Danielle Lisella and Rebecca Thomas. Marian will be presenting the play Friday, April 23 at 7:p.m, Saturday, April 24 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 25 at 2:p.m.
