Rain played havoc with Friday's scholastic sports schedule as several games were suspended and a a couple of others were shortened by the weather.

A date to play the remainder of the game has yet to be set.SOFTBALLMarian-Mahanoy A.Marian staged a five-run fifth inning rally to edge Mahanoy Area, 6-5, in Schuylkill League action.Trailing 5-1, the Fillies got an RBI single by Alexa Nemeth. They then loaded the bases with two out for Jeanne Cannon, who delivered a clutch two-run single. A Golden bear error on the play then allowed the tying run to score and send Cannon all the way around to third base. She scored what proved to be the winning run on a wild pitch.Curran had three hits, a run scored and an RBI to lead Marian offensively.
