PV Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced its list of activities for April.The Senior Game Practices will be held each Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Lehighton Senior Center. Chair exercises are held on Mondays and Fridays at the PV Senior Center starting at 10 a.m.On April 1 wear something silly for April Fool's Day. April 2 is Good Friday and the center is closed.April 5 is pay bingo at 11 a.m.; April 6 is line dancing in the morning and the Sunshine Club will meet after lunch; April 7 soup and salad and the speaker will be from Blue Mountain Health Systems at 11 a.m.; April 8 is Ethnic Dessert Day and blood pressure readings; April 9 is shopping on the CCCT at 9:30 a.m.April 12 is penny game at 11 a.m.; April 13 is line dancing and Wii games; April 14 is candy bingo at 11 a.m.; April 15 Jenn Ebert from the Village at Palmerton will speak at 11 a.m. April 16 is shooting pool and bean bags.April 19 is horse racing at 11 a.m.; April 20 is a bus trip to Joseph at Sights and Sounds at 10 a.m. from CVS and the center will be closed; April 21 AARP's Safe Driver's Course from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the center will be open for lunch; April 22 is another Safe Driver's Course from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the center will again be open for lunch; April 23 is a yard sale.On April 26 visiting Hollywood Casino. The bus leaves CVS at 10 a.m. and the center will be closed. On April 27 line dancing in the morning, with an ice cream social held after lunch; April 28 darts; April 29 celebrating birthdays, and bingo at 11 a.m.; April 30 is the theme basket drawing.Don't forget to sign-in for the next day lunch.FCSL plans spring meetingThe Frances C. Jakabein District of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association will hold its spring meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, in Macaluso's Lantern, routes 209 and 93 in Nesquehoning.Host branches will be Nesquehoning 410 and Hauto 414.Members of the St. Ann Society of St. Katharine Drexel Church planning to attend should make reservations by calling President Veronica Bazik at (570) 645-5253 by Saturday, April 10.Summit HillMethodist ChargeThe Easter schedule for the Coaldale-Summit Hill United Methodist Charge is as follows:A combined Charge Maundy Thursday service, with Holy Communion, will be held in the Coaldale United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 1, at 7 p.m. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate.The Easter worship service in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church will be held on Sunday, April 4, at 9 a.m. The Easter morning worship service in the Coaldale United Methodist Church will be at 11 a.m. Rev.
