Kids make a clean sweep at JT egg hunt

So how do you clean up a large public park in only 30 seconds or so? At Memorial Park in Jim Thorpe on Sunday, more than 3,000 plastic eggs were swept up from the park grounds in just about that amount of time as hundreds of children participated in the 15th Annual Easter Egg hunt there which was sponsored by the St. Joseph CYO. In addition to candy, more than 125 prizes were given out and five golden eggs, each worth $5, were also put out for the egg hunt. All of the eggs were filled by the 7th and 8th grade students of St. Joseph Regional Academy as a service project. After the egg hunt, all of the children and parents were treated to free hot dogs and sodas. Mike Sofranko, president of the CYO, thanked all of the CYO members and members of the council who came out to help with the egg hunt and refreshments.
