State police at the Fogelsville barracks said a tractor trailer driver fell asleep while driving on Wednesday at 1:47 a.m. on Interstate 78 in Upper Saucon Township, causing an accident with injuries.

Police said George F. Teeple, no address listed, was driving the rig that left the roadway and struck an unattended motor vehicle that was parked off the westbound shoulder of the highway.Police said he was transported to the St. Luke Hospital, Allentown, for unknown injuries.He will be cited for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving.
