Arrests made for thefts at ski resort

Arrests have been reported for thefts at a Carbon County ski resort.

State police at Lehighton said two New Jersey residents have been cited for an incident at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township.Troopers said Jared Berman, 19, of Stockton, and a 16-year-old male from Flemington, were arrested on Feb. 13 for taking a Rome model snowboard from the ski resort on Feb. 4. The snowboard belonged to Dane Pizzo, of MIlford, N.J.Troopers said due to security advancements implemented by the ski resort security was able to indentify, locate and recover the stolen item. Berman and the juvenile were charged with theft. Also, the ski resort has revoked the season passes of the two suspects as well as future privileges at the resort.Troopers said on Feb. 10 about 1:47 p.m. William Shivell, 24, of Breinigsville, allegedly stole a ski helmet valued at $70 and owned by the ski resort and offfered for sale. He is facing a charge of retail theft.
