The Advisory Board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bridge, serving Carbon County, held its Kick Off meeting for their annual Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser, a bowl-a-thon. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 27 at Fritz's Lanes and Pro Shop, Second and South streets, Lehighton.

The fun filled day provides an opportunity for anyone to join in the Bowl for Kids Sake. Teams and sponsors are welcome. This year's sponsors are Fritz's Lanes, attorney William G. Schwab, Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home Inc., attorney William H. Bayer, in memory of Wilbur "Cap" Bauchspies, Blue Ridge Pressure Casting, Fisher Insurance Agency, Jim Thorpe National Bank, Keystone Medical Equipment, Mark Sverchek Agency, Quality Personal Care, Pencor Services Inc., R.F. Fuel Oil, Josephine Rhyder, Stocker's Alignment Service, The Inn at Jim Thorpe and Zion United Church of Christ.Mary Schnell is the caseworker. She works out of the Hazleton office of Big Brothers/Big Sisters on a part-time basis. There are five matches with a waiting list of seven boys and four girls.
