Palmerton senior pole vaulter Lanny Buck cleared 14 feet six inches over the weekend to earn the gold medal in the event at the Kutztown High School Invitational at Kutztown Universoty's Keystone fieldhouse.

It was a personal best for Buck, who also won the pole vaults at the Lehigh University Christmas Relays last month. Buck also placed second in an indoor meet at East Stroudsburg University.Buck's closest competition came from Whitehall's Andrew Beerg and Owen J. Roberts' Kale Mullikan who cleared 13-6.
