Four charged with beating death among 44 arraigned

A McAdoo man and three Hazleton men facing homicide charges for allegedly beating a man to death and leaving his body along a road in East Union Township were among 44 arraigned Monday morning before District Attorney James P. Goodman. All those arraigned entered pleas of not guilty and requested trial by jury. They were:

Andrew Tutko II, 19, of 129 S. Hancock St., McAdoo; Jeffrey Allen Gombert, 19, of 336 W. Fourth St., Curtis Todd Foose, 25, of 336 W. Fourth St., and Shane D. Roof, 20, all of Hazleton.All four are charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal homicide, robbery by inflicting serious bodily injury on another, aggravated and simple asault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon. The charges were brought by Trooper Edward Lizewski who claims they caused the death of Anthony Locascio, 21, of Hazleton, by allegedly beating him and leaving his half naked body off Old Mill Road in East Union Township last September.Others arraignedOther defendants in pending cases who were arraigned included:Brad Scheeler, 33, of 82 Grier Avenue, Barnesville, was charged by Patrolman Michael Dissinger, Mahanoy City police, with criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernlia.David Berkley Ferrar, 23, Orwigsburg, was charged by Cpl. Rahn Richards, state police, with six counts each of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief committed at Schuylkill Country Club, Kegs Kases Store, Top City Store and Schuylkill Racket Club, all in North Manheim Township.Richard Daniel Cannavacciuolo, 19, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Cpl. Rahn Richards with three counts each of burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.Jose Enrique Rivera-Hernandez, 20, New York City, was charged by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, with possession of a small amount of marijuana.James Ignatius Tobin, 40, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Joseph Welsh, Pottsville police, with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, DUI of alcohol and drugs and careless driving.Jolissa T. Mataka, 28, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Richard Clink, MInersville police, with theft of leased videos from Olenick's Video Store, Minersville.Sean Patrick Cooke, 18, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, with four counts of impersonating a police officer and one count of disorderly conduct.Julio Medina Jr., 20, New York City, was charged by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey wtih possession of a small amount of marijuana.Frank David Vannicolo, 19, Minersville, was charged by Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers, Minersville police, with burglary of the Minersville General Store, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.Joseph John Jeronis, 30, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and public drunkenness.David Roland Zyk, 44, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Renee Galle, Pottsville police, with retail theft from Beer and Berger Store of one can of beer.Tessie Ann Harding, 43, Minersville, was charged by Patrolman Thomas Hoban, Minersville police, with criminal mischief the the vehicle of Michael Scribbick, Carbon Street, and causing $5,961 in damages; DUI and careless driving.Zachary J. Tobias, 21, Pine Grove, charged by Trooper Thomas Hornung with DUI on Mollystown Road in Tremont Township, careless driving and improperty stop and parking outside business residential district.Ty Allen Hippert, Pine Grove, was charged by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police, with DUI and two counts of failing to give notice of change of address.David Allen Weikel, 39, and Crystal Marie Weikel, 32, Sacramento, Hubley Township, were charged by Trooper Bernard Spece Jr. with four counts each of defrauding secured creditors and fraud in insolvency. The information filed to court claims Gratz National Bank, Valley View, approved a loan for $36,695 to the Weikels who used seven vehicles as collateral but when the loan defaulted the bank could seize only three vehicles as they had sold the other four vehicles.Carol Anne Blankenhorn, 40, Pine Grove, was charged by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police, with DUI and failing to drive at a safe speed.Georgette W. Koons, 56, Pine Grove, was charged by Det. Thomas Trotter IV, Pine Grove police, with theft of $769.04 of merchandise from Turkey Hill Mini Mart while employed at the store.Mark C. Wolfson, 50, Pine Grove, was charged by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police, with DUI and failing to have proper rear lighting on his vehicle.Tyler John Pridemore-Kreiser, 19, Pine Grove, was charged by Trooper Thomas Hornung with aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering Ronald L. Knoll by allegedly shooting him in the face with a BB pellet gun after a verbal argument.Phillip Holzer, 29, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner, Schuylkill Haven police, with DUI and reckless driving.Eric M. Lehman, 25, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Patrolman Gregory Meisner with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Michael Paul Mason Jr., 38, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Patrolman Gregory Meisner with possession of drug paraphernalia.Michael Morgan Griffith, 19, Pine Grove, was charged by Det. Trotter with two counts of theft of checks belonging to his grandmother.Amanda M. Kroh, 22, Pottsville, was charged by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police, with DUI and failing to drive on roadway laned for trafic.Leon I. Christ Sr., 35, no address, was charged by Cpl. Futchko with resisting arrest, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.Timothy Ryan Kreiser, 21, Pine Grove, was charged by Det. Thomas Trotter IV, Pine Grove police, with simple assault on Caleb Derr.David Joseph Hentz, 61, no address, was charged by Sgt. Beau Yarmush, Hegins Township police, with criminal trespass on property at 322 W. Main St., Valley View, and disorderly conduct. The police report states Hentz was found by the owner sleeping in a bathtub.Melissa Jane Butler, 28, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Kenneth Jacoby, Schuylkill Haven police, with DUI and careless driving.Carissa Danielle Wallace, 21, Pottsville, was charged by Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner, Schuylkill Haven police,with DUI and violation of title to car.Jeremy Tyler Culbert, 19, Pottsville, DUI and driving while operating privileges were suspended.Brooke Elizabeth Boyer, 24, Orwigsburg, was charged by Patrolman William Horn, Schuylkill Haven police, with DUI, driving while license was suspended, driving wrong way on one-way roadway and driving an unregistered vehicle.Robin Patricia Cotterill, 39, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Patrolman Kenneth Jacoby, Schuylkill Haven police, with DUI and failing to have a driver's license.Daniel Julius Nijie Jr., 18, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Patrolman Warren Firing, Schuylkill Haven police, with giving false identification to police.Raymond Scott Moyer III, 37, Auburn, was charged by Cpl. Thomas Maley, state police, with DUI, failing to wear a seat belt and exceeding the maximum speed limit by traveling 75 miles per hour in a 50 zone on Reedsville Road, Wayne Township.Devin Wendal Murphy, 17, Schuylkill Haven, was charged by Patrolman Charles Webber, Pottsville police, with aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering a fellow student.Julie Avila Levinson, 51, no address, was charged by Patrolman George Parnell, Mahanoy City police, with criminal conspiracy with an accomplice to steal a truck owned by Tom Davidson.Jeffrey Thomas Leinheiser, 18, Saint Clair, was charged by Patrolman Martin Sterner, Saint Clair police, with receiving jewelry stolen from Doreen Fesko;'s jewelry box.Veronica Lee Bogan, 46, Pottsville, was charged by Capt. Richard Wojciechowsky, Pottsville police, with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of communication facility and possession.Francis Vincent Purcell, 52, Branchdale, was charged by Trooper Jeffrey Hummel with DUI on SR209 in Branch Township.Christopher M. Treadwell, 19, Slatington, was charged by Patrolman Scott Cramer, Rush Township police, with retail theft from Walmart Store items valued at $80.
