State police at Lehighton are investigating an attempted break-in at a Monroe County home.

Troopers said the incident occurred at the residence of Henretta Simmons, Birch Drive, Polk Township. On Tuesday, Jan. 12, about 12:30 p.m. the rear screen door was open and broke was one of two pane of windows of sliding doors. An alarm sounded and the would-be intruder fled the scene, troopers said.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
