State police at Frackville reported on several crashes investigated by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 5 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, along SR1010 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said John Paletskie Jr., 32, of Morea, was driving a 1991 Chrysler New Yorker westbound on what is commonly called the "Pottsie Hill" and going too fast for conditions when the vehicle went off the road on the south side. It traveled up a slight embankment and struck a large rock which caused it to roll over. the vehicle came to rest on its roof in the east lane facing north.Paletskie suffered a minor injury in the crash. Paletskie showed signs of intoxication and was taken for a blood test. A charge of driving under the influence (DUI) is pending the test results, troopers said.A two vehicle crash was reported on Sunday, Jan. 3, about 2:35 p.m. along SR54 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Rita M. Miller, 40, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, and Derrick F. Dennis, 27, of Mahanoy City, were both eastbound with Miller in the right lane and Dennis in the left lane. Troopers said Miller attempted to make a left turn to cross the median and turned in front of Dennis. Dennis' 2005 Chevorlet Uplander hit Miller's 2008 Chevrolet Impala on the driver's side with the front end.Miller sustained a minor injury in the accident and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. Dennis and passengers Clancy Dennis, 27, and two children, ages four and one, were all not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Miller was cited for required position and method of turning.A one vehicle crash was probed on Thursday, Dec. 31, about 10 p.m. at the intersection of SR924 and SR4033, in West Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Gonzalo Villada, of Springfield Garden, N.Y., was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla southbound on 924 and approaching the intersection at a speed greater than allowed when he struck a stop sign, then traveled onto an embankment, causing damages to the engine of the vehicle.Villada, who was not injured, was issued two citations, troopers said.
