The Northern Lehigh football team has a scoring average that would make a lot of area basketball teams jealous.

Just call the Bulldogs' offense "fastbreak football" or "run and gun on grass."Friday night against Saucon Valley, Northern Lehigh topped the 40-point mark for the third consecutive week, rolling to a 48-20 Colonial League victory.So far this season, the Bulldogs are averaging 47.3 points a game."We really tried to stress spreading the ball around," said Northern Lehigh coach Joe Tout. "If we wanted to continue to be successful, we felt we needed to display more offensive weapons. I thought we did that tonight."Cody [Remaley] had another huge game, but we also got big contributions from Matt [Gill], Jake [Kern] and Dylan [Hofmann]. That type of balance is going to make us a better team."Remaley, who rushed for over 200 yards in each of his first two games, carried 18 times for 153 yards and four touchdowns. But Kern, Gill, Hofmann and reserve Dalton Johnson all added at least 50 yards rushing. Hofmann also passed for 80 yards."Remaley is a phenomenal back," said Saucon Valley coach Matt Evancho. "He is so hard to contain. But they have a lot of other weapons and they made a bunch of big plays."The big plays came early and often for the Bulldogs as they scored three times in the opening quarter.Remaley scored the first two TDs on runs of six and seven yards. The second touchdown was set up by a 41-yard pass from Hofmann to Mike Buresh. Kern then showed his big-play ability as he raced 42 yards for a score on the Northern Lehigh's first play following a fumble recovery."We talked to our kids about getting off to a good start and they definitely responded," said Tout. "Sometimes you're a little concerned when you are coming off a big win like we were. But we have some great senior leadership and the kids did a nice job of coming out ready to play."The Bulldog offense didn't let up in the second quarter as Remaley displayed his power and speed on a 60-yard touchdown run and Hofmann showed his elusiveness when he dropped back to pass, avoided a strong rush, and scrambled 31-yards for a touchdown.touchdown."I thought Dylan Hoffman played very well tonight," said Tout. "He made some nice throws and also showed his running ability."He can be a very dangerous double threat. I think with the way Dylan can throw the ball and with receivers like Kern and Caleb Johnson, we have the best opportunity to throw the football since I've been head coach."A 58-yard third quarter run by Dalton Johnson with a fake punt and another short TD run by Ramaley accounted for Northern Lehigh's second half touchdowns."The run by Dalton was a great play by our special teams," said Tout. "We had a comfortable lead at that point, but Saucon Valley was doing some nice things offensively. I thought that was big because it ended any momentum they might have had and kind of sealed the outcome."
