Farmer's market vouchers available

Published September 04. 2010 09:00AM

Farmer's market vouchers are still available to Carbon County residents age 60 and older.

Cheri Mae Santore, administrator of the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging, reminds county residents age 60 or older and whose income does not exceed $20,036 for a single person and $26,955 for a couple, that if they have not yet received their voucher, they can pick them up at the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging, 401 Delaware Ave., third floor, Palmerton.

Vouchers are good for $20 in produce at participating farmer's markets and must be picked up in person. If the qualifying resident cannot pick it up, they must complete a proxy form for the person picking up the voucher for them.

Proxy forms are available at the Area Agency on Aging or by calling 1-800-441-1315. The form will need to be signed by the consumer; as well as the person picking up the voucher.

There is a limited supply of vouchers left and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
