Palmerton Area Library
Through the generosity of the Horsehead's Resource Development Grant program, two day camps are being offered for children in grades K-5 at the Palmerton Area Library in July. The camps are being presented by teachers from Super Science and Amazing Art. The first camp is called "Super Science - Inventors Workshop" and will run from July 12-16 from 1-4 p.m. During the week, campers will use recycled materials and try to develop eco-friendly "green" inventions. Activities will include learning about great inventions, building balloon cars, making mineral paints and exploring the science of sound.
The second week, July 19-23, also from 1-4 p.m., will be "Amazing Art - Creative Minds of Music." Campers will learn the basics of music, set production, and how to produce their own musical sensation. An original musical production will be presented to family and friends on Friday evening the last day of camp. Children may attend one week of camp or both. They must have completed kindergarten. Class size is limited. No phone registrations will be accepted. Parents must come into the library to sign up their children. If you would like more information about these camps, please call the library at (610) 826-3424.
