Tamaqua Crime Watch seeks volunteers

Tamaqua Mayor Christian P. Morrison is encouraging the community to become involved in the established Tamaqua Crime Watch program.

The mayor welcomes interested residents to visit Borough Hall, 320 East Broad Street, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for more information on how to join Crime Watch.Morrison is also asking the borough citizens in general to be wary and attentive to any suspicious activity they may see. He is stressing that members of the community should not hesitate in calling 911, or the borough police at 668-6100/5000, if they witness anything seeming out of the ordinary. The mayor is confident that residents will continue looking out for their neighbors as well as taking common-sense precautions against crime such as locking doors and windows, and keeping areas illuminated at night.
