State police at Schuylkill Haven reported the arrest of a Berks County man for the robbery of a Schuylkill County bank. The robbery occurred about 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, at the Susquehanna Bank branch at 1251 Centre Turnpike (SR61), in Orwigsburg.

Troopers arrested Raddy Noel Toribio, 30, of Reading, on Monday, Aug. 9. He was taken into custody by Reading city police and turned over to troopers. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville in lieu of $100,000 straight cash bail.

At the time of the robbery troopers said a white male entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. An undetermined amount of money was handed over to the suspect then exited the bank and got into a vehicle and fled south on 61.

Video surveillance at the bank captured several images of the suspect, troopers said, which were used in identifying Toribio.
