Lehighton blanks Palmerton
Lehighton and Northern Lehigh both posted shutout wins in baseball action Thursday.
The Indians blanked neighboring rival Palmerton, while the Bulldogs used a trio of pitchers to record a five-inning perfect game against Wilson.
In other action, Northwestern earned a softball win against Tamaqua.
Lehighton blanked visting Palmerton for a 7-0 non-conference victory.
Dave Behler paced the Indians with a single, double, three runs scored and a RBI.
Jacen Nalesnik followed with two singles and four RBIs, three of which came on a three-run single in the second inning. Kyle Hunter chipped in with two singles and two runs scored.
The Indians' Tyler Hill tossed a complete game two-hitter with nine strike outs.
Aaron Cook and Christian Marcin had the Bomber hits.

Three Northern Lehigh pitchers combined for a perfect game in an 11-0 Colonial League win over Wilson.
Eric Snyder, Joe Seremula or Chad Mazepa kept the bases clean as their team won by the 10-run rule. Seremula fanned three, while the other two struck out two each.
Seremula also had two hits and two RBI. Matt Gill had two RBI on three hits. Also driving in two were Tyler Bolton and Andy Hoch.

Notre Dame of Green Pond scored ten runs in the first three innings of play and went on to defeat Jim Thorpe, 10-0 in non-league play.
Tyler Vail pitched all five innings for Notre Dame. He allowed jsut one hit while striking out nine. He also had four RBIs.

Kyra Barron delivered the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the eighth to help lift Northwestern to a 6-5 non-conference win over Tamaqua.
