A cellular phone tower in Schuylkill County was damaged by vandals.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said someone fired shots at the Verizon tower located behind the residence of 576 Swopes Valley Road, in Pine Grove Township, sometime between Nov. 1, 2009, and March 25. The criminals made six holes in the tower causing about $7,000 worth of damages. The damages occurred to five different transmission lines and one microwave dish.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
