November 24, 1966 Palmerton scores the game's only touchdown four minutes into the fourth quarter to earn a 7-0 win over rival Slatington. Roger Bowman fires a pass over the middle to Rod Berger, who completes the 72-yard scoring strike by outracing the Bulldog defenders. Walt Konek, who runs in the extra point, finishes with 72 yards rushing to give him 1,006 for the season. The Blue Bombers, coached by Jim Nonnemaker, stop Slatington on a couple of scoring chances one on a Steve Goidich tackle near the goal line and another on Dave Honzo's fumble recovery at the 10-yard line.
