Donate winter coats

Ice Cream Lab (formerly Ice Cream World II), Route 145, Lehigh Plaza has extended the dates to accept donations of new or gently used winter coats for men, ladies, and children of all ages. Please drop them off during business hours 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily. All the coats donated stay right here in the Lehigh Valley.Nativity displayThere will be a nativity display from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 at Heidelberg Union Church, Church and Irvin Roads, Saegersville area. Anyone interested in displaying his or her nativity can contact Linda Fritzinger at (610) 767-9086 or Sue Bickert at (610) 767-5782.The public is invited to display and/or come to the nativity display.Walnutport Senior CitizensWalnutport Senior Citizens meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 at Diamond Fire Company hall on Main Street. New members welcome.Please call (610) 767-5646 for additional information.Free Thanksgiving dinnerSt. John's United Church of Christ, 15 Second St., Slatington, is offering a free Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 26. Dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. and doors will open at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome. No reservations are required but are appreciated. Dinners will be delivered to "shut-ins" in the Slatington area, but calls for delivery must be received by Tuesday, Nov. 24. You can call the church office (610) 767-5554 if you have any questions, to make a reservation or to request a home delivery. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.Thanksgiving ServiceAll are welcome to attend the Community Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the First Baptist Church, corner of Main Street and South Second Street, Slatington. Please bring a nonperishable food offering for the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.
