A fire that destroyed a barn in the New Ringgold area of Schuylkill County has been ruled an arson.

State police at Frackville said a fire on Nov. 16 at 2:34 a.m. on the James A. Birdsall property at 51 Arrow Road, East Brunswick Townsihp, was intentionally set. The fire destroyed the barn, farm implements stored in it and a silage. Damages were estimated at $15,000.Fire marshal Trooper J.F. Burns said New Ringgold fire officials assisted him in the investigation.Burns asks anyone with information concerning the fire to call the barracks at (570) 874-5300.
