Frey's season ends after 100-yd. kickoff return for touchdown

Lehighton grad Robbie Frey set a new career high in kickoff return yards for the UConn Huskies two weeks ago against Rutgers with three returns for 163 yards including a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The Frey return for a touchdown was the first of the sophomore's career and tied the longest kickoff return for a touchdown in UConn Football history.It was the third 100-yard return for a touchdown in UConn Football History tying Gary DuBose vs. Yale in 1983 and Nick Giaquinto vs. New Hampshire in 1975.It was also the first kickoff return for a touchdown for the Huskies since Tyvon Branch returned a 97-yarder against Rutgers on Nov. 3, 2007.Later in the game, Frey injured his shoulder and was diagnosed with a torn left labrum and is finished for the season.
