An attempted burglary and criminal mischief incident are being probed in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said unknown persons attempted to break into the Deer Lake Beverage, located along SR61, just north of Brick Hill Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said the criminals attempted to pry open rear doors to gain entry but were not successful. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 11.Troopers said video footage from security cameras is being analyzed.The mischief incident occurred at C&C Candies, located along Long Run Road, in Wayne Township. Unknown criminals attempted to pry open Coca Cola and Seven Up vending machines with a bar type of object. No money was taken from the machines.The machines are the property of the Coca Cola Inc, of Pottsville, and Davis Beverage, of Bethlehem.
