Tamaqua native Cody Sassaman to perform at Bloomsburg Fair

Tamaqua native Cody Sassaman is taking his musical talents to new heights when he will be the "opening act" on the free admissions venue at the Bloomsburg Fair.

Sassaman's show begins at 10:30 a.m. on the opening day for the fair, Saturday, Sept. 26.Cody is well known to the Carbon-Schuylkill area, as he has been playing in various pubs as well as private affairs and benefits. He is also recognized for his participation in various events that benefit the American Cancer Society, including appearances on the Society's telethon.Sassaman lends his talents to various other charities, He is no stranger on the musical circuit in Pottsville, Drums and Bloomsburg.Cody, a 2008 graduate of Tamaqua area High School, has been playing guitar since age 13. He credits Maury Rutch and Chris Davis for refining his natural abilities.Currently, Sassaman attends Bloomsburg University where he is majoring in elementary education. While realizing an education is a necessity, Cody's ultimate dream is to become a professional musician. His passion for music has allowed him to offer a wide and varied repertoire of songs ranging from country to rock.Cody is the son of Rick and Shelly Sassaman of Hometown.
