'Click it or ticket' campaign set

State police Troop L will be participating in the national "click it or ticket" campaign from Nov. 16-28. This is an effort by state police to keep state highways safe during the Thanksgiving holiday period.

If a driver is stopped, and anyone in the vehicle is not properly restrained, the driver can receive two citations.Under state law every operator and front seat passenger shall wear a properly adjusted and fastened seat belt. Children under age 4 must be in a child passenger safety seat (anywhere in the vehicle) and children ages 4-8 must be securely fastened in a booster seat anywhere in the vehicle.A driver under the age of 18 may not operate a vehicle in which the number of passengers exceeds the number of seat belts.During this time Troop L will also be offering free child passenger seat inspections at locations in the troop's coverage area.
