Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on an assault incident and the arrest of a Monroe County resident.

Police said about 3:04 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, they were dispatched to the area of 1127 Whisper Drive, Pocono Summit, to a report of a fight in progress. On scene they spoke to Vasean Pickens, 18, of Pocono Summit, who told them he was jumped by a male wearing all black including a black mask.Witnesses identified the suspect as David J. Destefano, 20, of Pocono Summit. He was identified after the facemask and hat he was wearing was pulled off him during the fight.He fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers but was found a short time later and taken into custody. He was charged with simple assault, harassment, and drug charges, police said.
