Kimberly S. Noel, editor of Lifestyles Over 50, will speak at the Jan. 19 meeting of the Black Diamond Writers Network.

A certified senior adviser and owner of Spectrum Senior Consultants, Noel will share her story about how she transformed her experience and talent into a regional magazine designed for older adults.

Noel launched Lifestyles Over 50 in 2011, adding value to the services she provides with Spectrum Senior Consultants, Inc., which provides power of attorney and consultations for seniors and their caregivers. She also works as a care manager for Good News Consulting, Inc., a guardianship company.

Noel's college studies in journalism and media led her to work at WMGH/WLSH radio stations and later in marketing for malls and nursing homes. She has been involved with many organizations over the years including local chambers of commerce, RSVP, Schuylkill Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance, Inc., the American Cancer Society and others.

The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., and will be followed by a brief critique session for those interested in sharing some of their work or a roundtable discussion. The meeting is free and open to the public.
