A Lehighton resident has been cited by borough police for violation of a ordinance on signs.

Donald R. Smith, 56, of S. Fourth St., was cited for violating the ordinance that states "it shall be unlawful for any person to post or hang upon any utility pole, light post, sign or sign post owned by the borough or any other public utility or entity, any sign, banner, poster, etc., regardless of the method of attachment."
