PV JROTC boosters

The Panther Valley JROTC boosters will meet on Monday, Nov. 19 beginning at 6 p.m. in the JROTC room. All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.

St. John Lutheran

Wednesday Holden Evening Prayer Service with Holy Communion at St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will begin at 7 p.m. For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a brief Bible study at 6:30. Service will not be held if school is canceled or dismissed early due to bad weather on Wednesdays.

Meed's Thanksgiving Dinner

Meed's Memorial United Methodist Church Nesquehoning, will be sponsoring their annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner, on Sunday Nov. 18. Servings will be at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Children's Christmas Party

The Nesquehoning Recreation Committee reminds all residents that the deadline for sign-ups for the Children's Christmas Party will be Dec. 5. Registration can be done on a Wednesday evening during Bingo. The party will be held on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m.

Historical Society

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no historical society meeting this month.

Food Pantry

The Summit Hill Food Pantry will be open on Monday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. until noon. The month's food distribution is being held a week early due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The food pantry is located in the Summit Hill Heritage Center on Hazard and Chestnut streets. There is to be no parking in the alley prior to 9:45 a.m. and no parking in the lot. Recipients are reminded to bring along shopping bags and to bring extra heavy tote bags. No bags will be supplied.
