A Jim Thorpe driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), and other counts, following an incident on Friday, April 20.

Borough police said about 3:30 p.m. they received a report of a hit-and-run accident that occurred at the intersection of SR209 and Broadway.

Police also received information that the hit-and-run vehicle was a gold truck and the registration came back to Nicholas Kuzo III, 66, of 14 W. Seventh St.

It was also reported that Mahoning Township police were attempting to locate the same vehicle for an earlier report of an erratic driver.

Police observed Kuzo attempting to park the suspect vehicle near his home. They also observed him stumble from the vehicle and into the roadway.

Kuzo displayed several more signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

He was transported to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test.

The test results revealed a .24BAC.

Kuzo has been charged with two counts of DUI and one count of accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, and a summary motor vehicle code charge of careless driving.
