Lehighton man facing drug counts

A Lehighton man is facing drug charges following an incident in Nesquehoning.

On Oct. 12 about 2:47 a.m. officer Timothy Wuttke was on patrol in the 200 block of W. Catawissa Street when he observed a man leaning against a utility pole and appeared to be passed out. Wuttke circle block and when he returned the male was gone.Wuttke then encountered the male staggering north on Allen Street, in the middle of the road. Wuttke stopped the male and identified him as Herbert Jay Gasker, 33, of 503 Jefferson St. Gasker was highly intoxicated. While being arrested for public drunkenness Wuttke found a small plastic baggie with a crystal substance inside on Gasker's person. Gasker admitted it was methamphetamine, which it later tested positive.Gasker was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
