Two persons were hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 9:26 a.m. Dec. 17 on Weaver Road in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Robert Tombs, 54, of Spring Glen, Pa., was driving a 2000 Volvo Xpeditor waste truck west on Weaver Road when it lost its brakes. Police said he attempted to slow the truck by various means but the truck struck an embankment on the south side of the roadway and overturned.Police said Tombs and a passenger, Chris Zweizig, 24, of Cumbola, sustained injuries of unknown severity.
