The Eldred Township Historical Society elected officers for the 2011-2012 year. They are: Brenda Dorshimer, president; Jalene Keiser, vice president; Joyce Gower, secretary; Lenna Kuehner, treasurer.

After the business meeting, the members held a Show and Share.Constance Andrews brought in a petticoat that belonged to her grandmother, a pair of high top shoes, a gold pen and pencil set with a ribbon to wear them around the neck.Shirley Krum shared her collection of Swedish horses. Helen Gower brought her patterns that were ironed on material and then embroidered, plus a 1951 newspaper article about the late Jacob Meckes. Joyce Gower showed off a glass and a ceramic Scottie dog.Michelle Kuehner's daughter, Jane, raises Monarch butterflies and brought in the container where they are raised from a caterpillar to butterfly. Her daughter, Nicole, shared her collection of cards of horses and mini horse figures.The next ETHS meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Eldred Twp. municipal building. The guest speaker will be Melinda Ludwig on basket-weaving with demonstrations.
