Methodist Charge

The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, March 20, is as follows:

Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.

The adult Sunday school will be held at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.

A free will offering for the Conference Congo program will be received.

Democrats to meet

The Jeffersonian Democratic Club of Summit Hill will meet on Wednesday, March 23, at 7 p.m. in the Summit Hill Borough Hall. Nathan Halenar, president, will be in charge.

All officers, committeemen and committeewomen and candidates are asked to attend since plans for the May 17 Primary Election will be discussed.

Lions to meet

The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Lions Club will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m. at the St. Gabriel's Italian Club. The guest speaker for the evening will be Judy Hoppes from the American Cancer Society.

St. Paul Lutheran

The Confirmation class of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, meet on Sunday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the church. That is also the deadline for parishioners to submit articles for the church newsletter. They can be submitted to Emma Weaver.

Coaldale

First Congregational Church

On the agenda for next week at the First Congregational Church are the following services and activities:

Sunday, March 20- 9 a.m. Morning Worship; 10 a.m. Sunday School; 12:30 p.m. Confirmation Class.

Wednesday, March 23 - 7 p.m. Lenten Service followed by choir rehearsal.

Sunday, March 27 - 9 a.m. Morning Worship; 10 a.m. Sunday School; 12:30 p.m. Confirmation Class.

Nesquehoning

Democratic club

The Nesquehoning Democratic Club will hold a meeting on Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m., at the Lions Club building. President Frank Jacobs said that plans for the upcoming election will be taking place.

Choir practice

Choir practice will be held for choir members at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning on Tuesday, March 22 at 1 p.m.

All members are asked to attend.
