A Coaldale man who pleaded guilty to burglarizing a home received a state prison sentence imposed by President Judge William E. Baldwin in the Schuylkill County Court. Six others who pleaded guilty were also sentenced.
Michael Lee Reed, 32, of 369 West Ridge St., Coaldale, charged with theft of property from a private home, was sentenced to serve 35 months to 70 months in a state correctional institution with credit for spending 22 days in the Schuylkill County Prison, and make restitution of $590 to Priscilla Smith, of 6 East High St. Reed was cited by Sgt. Keith Krapf, Coaldale Police.
Travis Wieser, 32, of Stoney Creek, Jim Thorpe, R.D. 3, charged with unauthorized use of an automobile, was sentenced to serve one month to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 13 days, pay $50 to CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account), a $50 monthly fee for each month on probation, and on a summary charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended, was fined $200 plus $463.50 in costs. Wieser was cited by Chief Timothy Delaney, Coaldale Police, and charged with taking a vehicle belonging to Allen Zavitsky, Coaldale.
Sharla Murray, 57, Shenandoah, theft and forgery of a check, was placed on probation for 24 months, and ordered to pay $50 to CJEA, $50 to district attorney's office, a $50 monthly probation fee and make restitution of $100 to victim, Justine Davis, Shenandoah, from whose purse she took the check. Murray was cited by Lt. Gary Keppel, Shenandoah Police.
Christian Todd Zimmerman, 40, Shamokin, retail theft from Boscovs' Store, Fairlane Mall, Pottsville, was sentenced to serve six months to 23 months in the county prison, pay a $50 monthly probation fee and court costs. He was cited by Trooper Michael Allar.
Dion Jose Aguila, 39, Port Carbon, DUI (driving under the influence), sentenced to serve three months to six months in the county prison. Since he served the six months was released on parole, fined $500, ordered to pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center and a $50 monthly probation fee. Aguila was cited by Patrolman Joseph C. Ferraro, Port Carbon Police.
Christopher Young, 32, of 76 Water St., New Philadelphia, DUI, was sentenced to serve 30 days to six months in the county prison beginning Monday, Aug. 15 at 9 a.m.; fined $750, and ordered to pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee; undergo intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment; and continue with Self Help Recovery Group. On a summary charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended, he was sentenced to serve 90 days in prison, fined $1,000 plus $63.50 costs. Young was cited by Trooper Brent Spleen
