Tamaqua volunteer retrieves shopping carts

Volunteers with the Tamaqua Volunteer community initiative group point out that the number of abandoned shopping carts littered throughout Tamaqua is rising and volunteers are struggling to keep up.

"If they have to take a cart, they should at least return it instead of leaving them lay throughout Tamaqua," said one volunteer.A Tamaqua Crime Watch representative stated, "Taking shopping carts off store property is stealing. If you see someone pushing a red-handled shopping cart in Tamaqua, call 911 and report it."He added, "The only way they will stop littering these carts is if they get fined."
