Scholarship Sunday was held recently at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, with scholarships valued at $15,009 this year presented to numerous recipients representing the congregation.

Awarded the George Acker Scholarship were, Daniel Eisenberg, $2,219 and Kenneth Melber, $1,480.Recipients of the Rev. Raymond A. Minnich Memorial Scholarship, Kathryn Irwin, $600; and Amanda Bernecker, and Diane Smeck, each $500.Awarded the $600 Trinity High Education Scholarship were Nakea Beers, Ian Christman, Rebecca Hoffner, Camara Klotz, Alyssa Krause, Emily Mulcahy, Ethan Schaeffer, Heather Schweitzer and Sarah Snyder.Ted Krieger Memorial Scholarships of $140 each were awarded to Nakea Beers, Ian Christman, Rebecca Hoffner and Alyssa Krause.Several people who plan to enter the nursing field were awarded the Jean D. and Robert A. Benner Nursing Scholarship. Awarded $300 were, Rebecca Boyer, Ashley Jennings, Alyssa Knappenberger and Rae Ann Rehrig. Awarded $195 were Debra Lobien, Jessica Lobien, Tiffany Morresi, Alexandrea Mosteller and Kevin Seemiller.Also several nursing students were awarded the William C. and Loretta K. Shirar Memorial Nursing Scholarship. They are RaeAnn Rehrig, $200 and receiving $400 each are Alyssa Knappenberger and Ashley Jennings.
