Coaldale Lions meetings
The Coaldale Lions will resume its indoor meeting schedule this month.
The first meeting of the group will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and the second meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Both meetings will take place at the Viennese Villa in Coaldale and start at 5:45 p.m. President Robert E. Ames will preside.
Nesquehoning
VFW auxiliary
The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the post home on East Center Street.
President Mandy Breiner will preside at the session. All members are invited to attend.
Slovak cemetery
There will be a meeting of the Protestant Slovak Cemetery Association of Nesquehoning on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church. Committee members are urged to attend.
Crime watch
The September Crime Watch meeting is set for Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. in the borough building.
St. John's
At 7 p.m. each Wednesday St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St.,
Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening
service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief
evening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a simple supper is served
at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult and children's Bible study at 6:30.
