Monroe County Seniors will meet at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13, and Friday, Oct. 15, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville. The topic for the 15th is "Smile-Attitude Counts," presented by Prime Time's Kate Koehler.
Monroe's Unit of the American Cancer Society needs volunteer drivers to take cancer patients to treatment through the Road to Recovery program. Drivers are needed Monday through Friday, mornings or afternoons. Those with a good driving record, free time and motivation to help should contact Karen Schiavone at (570) 562-9749. The society has two vans or volunteers may use their own car. Training will be provided.

The Pleasant Valley Leo Club has begun its annual school year cycle of meetings and community service. Members will be active during this week's PVHS parent-teacher conferences. On community Halloween night, Tuesday, Oct. 26, members will be reading stories, coloring, and being involved in other activities.
