$102 million project

Starting next week workers of Walsh Construction will begin to lay 70, 150-foot long concrete beams on a new bridge that will replace a steel beam bridge on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike over the Pohopoco Creek. The $102 million project will build four new bi-directional superstructures just south of the Mahoning interchange over the Pohopoco Creek and the Lehigh River. An 18,000 ton crane will be used to place the beams.
