OMAHA, NEBRASKA - Scott Clymer dropped a 12-7 decision to Jaun Archuleta of Purdue as he wrestled back at the NCAA Division I Championships here on Friday afternoon.

Clymer lost for the second time in a row after winning his opening match of the tournament on Thursday."This has been great," Clymer said as he accessed his trip to nationals. "I have every bit of incentive I need now. I beat a seeded guy (Adin Nuenas of Cal State Fullerton) in the first round and the had the match against (Mat) Ciasulli in the quarters. He is a local legend, and I had it."This experience has proven to me that these guys aren't Gods. I can do this. I can win here."Jesse Castro, Clymer's coach at Liberty University, was more than happy with his first trip to the championships."What can Isay about Scott," said Castro. "He got here, he was two seconds from being in the quarters, and he has the things you can't coach. The passion and desire to win and improve."Steve Mytych, who wrestled one year at Pleasant Valley before transferring to Northampton, fell one win short of All-American status when he lost to Kent State's Dan Mitcheff 3-1.The Drexel 133-pounder won in overtime earlier on Friday to set up the match that could have made him an All-American. A 5-3 overtime win over Dave Marble advanced him to the consolation quarterfinals where he lost to Mitcheff, putting him into the last 12 wrestlers at his weight class.
