The Summit Hill Historical Society is conducting its annual membership drive. Dues help the society to maintain operations of its museum on East Ludlow Street and to fund special projects in town. To join, contact president Lee Mantz.
The schedule for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, March 7, is as follows:
Junior choir, 8:45 a.m.; adult Bible class, 9 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m. and worship service, 10:30 a.m. Child care will be provided.
The Summit Hill Food Pantry conducts a monthly distribution of food boxes to the needy in the community.
Anyone in need of the assistance, or knowing of individuals or families who do, is asked to contact Rose Marie Armon, (570) 645-3604, or Sandra Hill, 645-4617.
The pantry, a non-denominational entity, is always in need of donations and manual assistance.
To donate items or your time, contact the above persons as well.
The Summit Hill Lions Club has taken on the task of assisting the pantry with its distributions as a service project.
Boxes are usually packed on a Thursday, beginning at 9 a.m., and are distributed on the fourth Tuesday, starting at 9 a.m.
St. Paul Lutheran
The schedule for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, March 7, is as follows: Sunday school, 9 a.m.; and service of worship, 10:30 a.m.
The church council will meet on Tuesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in the church.
The midweek Lenten service for the Lutheran community of the Panther Valley will be held Wednesday, March 10, in St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford. The evening will begin with a light supper of soup and sandwiches at 6 o'clock, followed by the worship at 7 o'clock.
The Rev. Fred Rogers, pastor of the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, will speak on the "Lord's Prayer."
Lansford Borough officials have announced that as a convenience to the residents of the borough, the annual sewer transmission bills can be paid at the East Penn Bank, 13 W. Ridge St., Lansford, until March 15.
The borough is also collecting the bills in the administrative office and through mail service.
